Cloich Cheann Fhaola 1-14 Naomh Muire 2-03 Naomh Muire 2-11 Fanad Gaels 2-09 Naomh Muire Seniors maintained their Division 2 status following a nail biting and time added on victory over Fanad Gaels in the Banks today. Trailing by 7 points at half time...the lads came out a much more competitive team in the second . Fanad Gaels were impressive and certainly determined to avoid the drop and although it looked like an away win. Naomh Muire kept plugging away and an Owen Grant goal brought it back to a few scores. Then with 2 mins left and a point down Thomas Duffy lofted a huge ball into the square which ended up in the net for a famous goal. It might be seen that the lads rode their luck in this game but they always made sure they stayed in it even when it was going against them. Well done to Danny O Donnell and all the squad and with some big sides coming down, division 2 next year will be a good place to be.....Naomh Muire abú! More photos here...... Click here. (Go raibh maith agat Bríd). The final league game in division two was played yesterday (03/11/12) with Cloich Cheann Fhaola and Naomh Bríd playing out a draw in Falcarragh. This result means that Cloich Cheann Fhaola are safe by a single point and Naomh Bríd are automatically relegated to Division 3. This also means that the playoffs are now straight forward. Naomh Muire will now play Fanad Gaels to see who remains in Division 2 and to see who goes down. Naomh Muire will have home advantage in this game due to their better league position. This game is provisionally fixed for next Sunday (11/11/12) in the Banks (time to be confirmed). At the other end of the table, Malin are automatically promoted while Killybegs and Bundoran will play off for the second promotion place.

Senior : Naomh Muire 0-16 Naomh Bríd 0-06 Reserve: Naomh Muire 6-10 Naomh Bríd 0-04 Seniors Naomh Muire won their last league game this afternoon in a commanding performance against Naomh Brid . This win guarantees at least a play-off to remain in Division two as well as home advantage in that play-off. Depending on next week's result between Naomh Bríd and Cloch Cheann Fhaola, Naomh Muire could yet be playing a play off which would see them achieve Senior Championship football next year. Today's performance shows why few teams like coming to the Banks as Naomh Muire proved too much for the visitors and ran quickly into a 4 point lead. They then added to this going in at half time with a 0-10 to 0-2 lead having dominated. Naomh Bríd enjoyed better possession early in the second half and brought it back to a 6 point gap before the lads got their rhythm back and increased their lead, running out ten point winners in the end. Reserves The reserves showed some great finishing by hammering the Naomh Bríd side in their match and finish the season in a strong upper table position. 21/10/12 Seán Mac Cumhaills 2-11 Naomh Muire 1-11
Naomh Muire seniors went down by a goal in Ballybofey today on a scoreline of 2-11 to 1-11. A hard fought physical game where the home team got off to a great start leading by 1-03 to 0-00 after ten minutes. Naomh Muire quickly regrouped and battled hard to leave the half time score 1-06 to 1-04. Indeed in the second half it was the visitors who started the brightest and leveled matters soon after and pushed on to take the lead. With both sides trading points MacCumhaills came back strong and finished that single goal ahead in the end. The win means that MacCumhaills are assured of division 2 football next year whereas Naomh Muire return home next weekend to face Naomh Bríd in a battle for home advantage in the play off. There are a few different scenarios depending on other results but it the playoffs will involve Fanad Gaels, Naomh Bríd, Naomh Muire and possibly even Cloich Cheann Fhaola. In the earlier game the reserves were defeated by a single point. A great effort from all the lads. Another great win in Div 2 for our Seniors today at the Banks. Leading by three points at the break although having played with a strong breeze, the lads were under pressure in the 2nd half until a Shaun the Yank Goal kept them ahead. Mc Cumhaills playing the better football of the second half edged their way back to draw level with 4 minutes remaining. As another Naomh Muire attack broke upfield, captain Owenie Mc Garvey took on the responsibility and hit a magical 30 metre point against the breeze to secure an important home win.
